About Image Collections
The Digital Image Collections are UVa's first searchable repository of digital images and information about them that integrates local collections, licensed resources, and faculty projects. For use by the UVa community in teaching and research, this system represents the initial phase of an ongoing effort and additional collections will be added on a regular basis.
Authentication: Many items in the Digital Collections are restricted to the UVa community - users must be on Grounds, or authenticated through UVa Anywhere.
Please Note: this first implementation of Digital Collections is in an experimental phase during which new services and tools will be developed and tested; consequently, services may occasionally be unavailable.
There are minimum software requirements for some functionality, including the installation of Java on your machine. Please see the Image Collection help for more information.
See our FAQ for more information about UVa Library's Digital Collections Repository.

Collectus and ImageViewer
Our Collectus digital object collector tool supports research and instruction by allowing users to save personal collections of images from the Repository, generate web pages and slide shows, and manipulate individual images in real time. Collectus and the ImageViewer are accessed from the "Tools & Actions" menus below each image. There are minimum software requirements for the use of the tools, including the installation of Java on your machine. For more information, see the Collectus and ImageViewer Help.
